Meet Olivia

I began my musical journey at the age of four, learning to play the violin. But it wasn’t until I had children of my own that I truly realized how powerful early music education can be in a child’s life.

Through programs like Kindermusik and Musikgarten, my daughter was immersed in music from a young age—singing everywhere she went and developing a love for music that was absolutely contagious. When our family moved to Hendricks County in 2020, we discovered Sound Beginnings and Let’s Play Music, and we were instantly hooked. What stood out to me most was how these programs go far beyond simple music and movement. Children are introduced to solfège, ear training, active listening, and classical music in ways that are engaging, natural, and developmentally appropriate.

It was incredible to watch my daughter begin connecting the songs she loved to sing with solfège and to see her start understanding the building blocks of music like the major scale—all through playful, hands-on experiences. Week after week, she couldn’t wait to go to class. Now, as a Let’s Play Music graduate, she understands chord structure, can transpose music, and has a strong foundation in music theory—something I didn’t fully develop until much later.

Music has always been a constant in my life, and I knew I wanted my children to experience the same joy and enrichment it brings. Teaching Sound Beginnings and Let’s Play Music allows me to share that love with other families and help children build a lifelong relationship with music.

"My son (3 year- old) loves Sound Beginnings with Olivia! For the Fall semester, each weekly class included engaging activities, dances, songs, and instruments. I have noticed an improvement in his vocabulary and confidence! It is such a special mother son bonding experience, also. We are looking forward to another fun semester!"
